About SafetyDeeds
Safety by deeds, not words
SafetyDeeds is a Sydney-based WHS consultancy that gives businesses practical, affordable access to senior health and safety expertise.
Our story
Why SafetyDeeds exists
Too many businesses are told that safety means more paperwork. Thick manuals, generic SWMS and audit reports full of jargon cost time and money, and they rarely make anyone safer.
SafetyDeeds was set up to do things differently. Our name comes from a simple idea: safety is measured by what you do, not by what you write down. That means practical controls that work on site, documents people actually use and advice that gets straight to the point.
We work with businesses that carry real risk but don’t have a full-time safety team, and with larger organisations that need specialist help. Every engagement is led personally by our Principal Consultant, Karim Ali.
What we stand for
- Practical over paper. We focus on controls that work in the field.
- Plain English. No jargon and no padding.
- Honest advice. We tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.
- Right-sized. Solutions that fit your business and your budget.
- Always improving. Good systems keep getting better over time.

Principal Consultant
Karim Ali
ChOHSP, FAIHS, CFIOSH, CSP
Karim is a Fellow and Chartered OHS Professional of the Australian Institute of Health and Safety (AIHS) and a Chartered Fellow of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). He has more than 20 years of experience managing health, safety and environmental risk in challenging, high-risk industries.
He has led WHS systems, strategy and operational support through every phase of an asset’s life, from construction and start-up through to operations, major projects, maintenance and decommissioning. His work spans multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, with a strong focus on legal compliance, behavioural safety, culture change and continual improvement.
Karim is also an independent WHS expert witness and has prepared more than 150 expert reports for plaintiff and defendant solicitors. That work gives him a clear view of how WHS decisions are examined after something goes wrong, and he brings that perspective to every consulting engagement.
